Lionel Messi has sent a fax to FC Barcelona telling the club he wants to cancel his contract, according to news first broken by Argentine outlet TyC Sports.
Messi wants to use a clause in his contract that allows him to leave at any point between seasons, although it is expected that there will be negotiations before he actually voids the contract. Why? It is reportedly because the option to leave expired on June 10th, which in normal times would be between seasons. However, due to the coronavirus break, the end of the season actually happened much later.
