A ship carrying residents getting back from a marriage capsized in northern Nigeria killing about 100 individuals, police and native residents mentioned Tuesday, as a seek for survivors intensified.

The boat capsized early Monday on the Niger River within the state of Kwara near neighboring Niger state, police spokesman Okasanmi Ajayi mentioned.
