The first theatre show since March will be performed at the Beacon Amphitheatre, Tunbridge Wells on September 13.

The cast of Beyond the Barricade includes David Fawcett who grew up in Tunbridge Wells.

As the world begins to return to live entertainment, Beyond The Barricade, the UK’s longest running musical theatre concert tour, is playing it’s only Kent date this year at the Beacon Amphitheatre in Tea Garden Lane, Tunbridge Wells, Kent on Sunday, September 13.

Only 60 tickets are available for the performance to allow for Covid safety precautions to be met, but the show, which celebrates 21 years on the road this year, is delighted to be performing again.

David Fawcett, co-producer and performer, said, “This will be our first ‘theatre’ show since March and we can’t wait to get back, Whilst we have done a couple of picnic performances, it’s great to be able to perform the best of both worlds, a seated audience, but outdoors”

Beyond the Barricade features past principal performers from Les Miserables and delivers over two hours of songs from the best musicals of the West End and Broadway, ending with a stunning finale from Les Miserables and will include songs from The Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, Hamilton, The Lion King, West Side Story, Jesus Christ Superstar, Chicago, and many more.

The show has toured extensively throughout the UK, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand and was due to tour Australia again earlier this year but was thwarted by the pandemic.

The vocalists in Beyond the Barricade have all played principal roles in Les Miserables, both in the West End and the National Tours. Andy Reiss and David Fawcett devised ‘Beyond the Barricade’ after appearing in the Manchester and London casts of Les Misérables. David played the lead role of Jean Valjean in both of these productions, and Andy played most of the male characters, including Enjolras and Valjean. Andy still remains the only person to be the shows resident director, and perform in it at the same time.

Katie Leeming joined Beyond the Barricade after playing many lead roles in the West End including Eponine in Les Miserables. Completing the quartet is Poppy Tierney who played Cosette in Les Miserables, as well as other major West End leading roles such as Mary Poppins and Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady.
