The second day of the ICAR Zonal Sports Tournament (North Zone) 2023 witnessed a show of expertise, as individuals from throughout India clinched gold, silver, and bronze medals in varied occasions.

Organised by ICAR-CIPHET, Ludhiana, the event introduced collectively greater than 800 individuals from 24 institutes, representing seven Indian states, on the Sports Complex, PAU.

In an impressive efficiency, CIFE, Mumbai, secured gold medals in javelin throw (girls) and shotput (girls). Other gold medallists embody NBFGR, Lucknow, in javelin throw (males), CSSRI, Karnal, in shotput (males) , CIPHET, Ludhiana, in 200m race (girls), and IIWBR, Karnal, in each 200m race (males) and 400m race (males). CPRI, Shimla, claimed the highest spot in 800m race (males), and VPKAS, Almora, triumphed within the 1,500m race (males).

Silver medals have been secured by CPRI, Shimla, in javelin throw (girls), shotput (girls), and shotput (males); VPKAS, Almora, in 400m and 800m race (males); CIFE, Mumbai, in 200m race (girls); IISWC, Dehradun, in 200m race (males); and IIFSR, Meerut, in javelin throw (males).

Bronze medals have been claimed by CIFE, Mumbai, in shotput (girls), 200m race (girls), and 200m race (males); CPRI, Shimla, in javelin throw (males) and 1,500m race (males); DMR, Solan, in javelin throw (girls); CITH, Srinagar, in shotput (males); IIFSR, Meerut, in 400m race (males), and IISWC, Dehradun, in 800m race (males).

The event featured a plethora of matches in cricket, soccer, chess, carrom board, badminton, volleyball, and basketball.
