BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh government has constituted a state-level empowered committee under the chairmanship of the chief secretary to encourage innovation and its use in the latest technology.
The committee members will include additional chief secretary / principal secretary finance, planning, economic statistics, law and legislative affairs, principal secretary / secretary of the department related to the project and special invitee subject experts.
Sources said, the principal secretary/secretary science and technology will be member secretary.
The committee will be of permanent nature and will encourage innovation and its use on the adoption of new materials, process and product technology, innovations and solutions in various work areas of government departments or governance, along with improvement in productivity, usability and quality.
In case the need to examine the adoption of latest technologies is felt, the department will identify the use of latest technology in its field of work and submit the proposal before the state-level empowered committee, said our sources.
The commissioner, institutional finance may be consulted by the department in respect of the proposal in respect of financial matters bidding etc.
The committee will be able to recommend, after thorough consideration, under which vendor selection process the new technology or proposal can be implemented as experimental or in the pilot form.
The special provisions for startups will be taken into consideration by the committee regarding amendment, deletion and inclusion of new provisions in Madhya Pradesh startup policy and implementation plan 2021 and Madhya Pradesh store purchase and service acquisition rules 2015, said some highly-placed sources.
