A person who claimed to be a ‘baba’, self proclaimed godman was arrested in Amravati in Maharashtra on Thursday for allegedly raping a lady who got here to him for some remedy, a police official advised the PTI on Thursday.

The accused has been recognized as Santosh Bawne of Kuksa village within the district’s Daryapur space, Sub Divisional Police Officer Gurunath Naidu stated, in response to the PTI.

“The woman had gone to the accused along with her husband. He sent her husband outside to purchase some article and raped the woman. The so-called baba has been arrested and further probe is underway,” the SDPO stated.
