The Indian markets were trading lower in Friday’s volatile session, weighed down by heavyweights Reliance Industries (RIL) and the HDFC twins.
The S&P BSE Sensex was trading 290 points lower at 37,470 levels and the Nifty50 index gave up the 11,100-mark. Reliance Industries slid 2 per cent after reporting its June quarter results. Meanwhile, the HDFC twins slipped 2 per cent each and were among the top Sensex losers. On the other hand, IT stocks were once again in focus with HCL Tech, TCS, Tech Mahindra, and Infosys all rising over 1 per cent each.
The trend among Nifty sectoral indices mixed. Nifty Pharma index rose 2 per cent while the Nfty Financial Services index dipped 1 per cent.
