The S&P BSE Sensex gained 210 points and reclaimed 38,000 levels. The index hovered around at 38,030 levels and the Nifty50 index was testing the 11,200 levels. Asian Paints (up 2%) was the top Sensex gainer. Larsen & Toubro was also trading over 1 per cent higher after announcing its June quarter results. ICICI Securities also rose as much as 7 per cent following the announcement of its quarterly results.

Meanwhile, YES Bank hit 20 per cent lower circuit at Rs 14.60 on the BSE.

Moreover, specialty chemical company Rossari Biotech listed at Rs 670 per share, a premium of 58 per cent against the issue price of Rs 425 per share.

The Nifty sectoral indices were trading mixed, with the Nifty Metal index, up 0.7 per cent, leading the list of gainers.
