The Indian markets slipped half a per cent on Thursday, tracking the losses in their Asian peers.
The S&P BSE Sensex dipped 184 points to 39,120 levels and the Nifty50 index fell below the 11,600-mark. ICICI Bank, TCS, and IndusInd Bank were all trading 1 per cent lower in early deals. On the other hand, ONGC was up1 per cent.
The trend among Nifty sectoral indices was largely negative, led by Nifty Bank index, down 1 per cent.
In the broader market, the S&P BSE MidCap and SmallCap indexes were trading flat.
