LIVE market updates: The benchmark indices were trading volatile after opening positive, and then slipping into red. The BSE Sensex dropped 100 points to at 59,984. The Nifty50, meanwhile, was trading at 17,856.  Coal India, Power Grid, NTPC, IOC were among the top gainers in the 50-pack index. The top laggards were in the IT sector, namely HCL Tech, Infosys, and Wipro.

On the sectoral front, most indices were in the red with Nifty Realty falling 2 per cent. Other losers were Nifty IT, Media, and Pharma. the only gainers were PSU Bank up 1 per cent, Nifty Metal and FMCG.
