Shillong, July 4: Meghalaya Sports minister Shakliar Warjri on Tuesday knowledgeable that the sports activities division together with the Meghalaya State Olympic Association (MSOA) launched the “Lead Programme,” for which 9 athletes from the state has been chosen for coaching to compete on the worldwide degree and the Olympics.
Warjri stated that out of the 14,500 athletes from all of the 12 districts of Meghalaya, 200 have been shortlisted for additional check out of which solely 9 have been chosen. These chosen athletes can be skilled for the following 3 years.
According to the Minister, they’d even be skilled by famend olympic athletes together with by some athletics and weightlifting.
He additionally expressed hope that after recieving coaching for 3 years, these skilled athletes will be capable of compete on the worldwide degree and even within the Olympics.
