A weekly psychological well being camp will probably be held on the workplace of the District Mental Health Programme Officer on the premises of the city main well being centre (UPHC), Lady Hill, Mangaluru, from Monday.

Talking to The Hindu, District Nodal officer for Mental Health Programme C.M. Sudarshan mentioned the camp at UPHC will probably be a part of the continued ‘Mano Chaitanya’ programme of the State authorities. This camp will probably be between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Those dealing with issues particularly anxiousness, sleeplessness, melancholy, lack of focus, suicidal ideas and unusual behaviour can attend the camp. Dr. Sudarshan mentioned psychological well being therapy is obtainable on the Government Wenlock Hospital. It can be held on the UPHCs in Ullal and Uppinangady.

Dr. Sudarshan mentioned there are a complete of 24 de-addiction centres in Dakshina Kannada for alcohol, medicine, and different substance abuses. Of this, 19 are in Mangaluru, whereas two every are in Belthangady and Puttur. One centre is in Moodbidri.

Under the psychological well being programme, Dr. Sudarshan mentioned providers of 5 counsellors have been outsourced. These counsellors have been visiting two locations per week together with malls, KSRTC depots, and slums and holding counselling periods for alcohol and different substance abuse addicts. These counsellors refer among the addicts to the psychological well being camps, he mentioned.
