New Delhi: MG Motor India on Saturday announced 40 percent increase in retail sales for the month of July 2020 at 2,105 units, as compared to July 2019.
The company had sold 1,508 units in July 2019.
Commenting on the overall sales performance in July 2020, Rakesh Sidana, Director – Sales, MG Motor India, said, “The overall market environment continues to be challenging with uncertainties due to variable lockdowns in various phases. The component supplies continue to remain impacted especially from the Chennai region.”
He further added, “However, despite these challenges, our production has remained at similar levels in July as compared to June 2020 and we expect the situation to improve during the festival season.”
The automaker launched the MG Hector Plus last month and claims that it is seeing encouraging traction for its top trims across markets. Preparing to serve its customers in the new normal, MG Motor India also introduced its new contact-free technology suite ‘Shield+’ to enhance the customer experience.
