The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has announced a preliminary schedule for fall sports that were postponed until the spring season, including football, volleyball, golf and soccer.
Football games will be played on weekends beginning March 19. Hope College will open its football season either March 19 or 20 at Adrian.
The Flying Duchmen have a bye in Week 2, then host Alma on April 2-3, Trine on April 9-10, Olivet on April 16-17 and play at Albion April 23-24.
Dates and times of the games will be determined at a future time.
Men’s soccer will begin the week of March 22 with Tuesday and Friday games. Hope will host Kalamazoo on March 22 and play at Adrian on March 25.
Hope will play at Calvin on April 13 the week before the MIAA tournament is scheduled to begin (April 20).
Hope has a Week 1 bye in the women’s soccer season and will open play at home against Saint Mary’s on March 23 before hosting Calvin on March 26. The MIAA tournament will begin March 19.
Volleyball will begin for Hope on March 19 with a home match against Alma. Teams will play Wednesdays and Fridays.
Hope will play at Calvin on Friday, April 16, and the MIAA tournament will begin April 20.
For men’s and women’s golf, the conference schedule has eliminated the 3-round AQ tournament. Instead there will be eight rounds of golf hosted by 8 of the conference member’s home courses to determine both the MIAA Champion and the team that will receive the AQ for the NCAA National Championship Tournament in the spring.
