The lockdown truly unleashed the hidden chef in all of us. We tried our hands at everything, every food item that we missed so dearly, one of the most popular being momos. While some of us did manage to get it right somehow, some of us weren’t so lucky. But there is no need to lose heart as yet. Momo King’s new and safe delivery menu has got you covered and how! Among a range of Himalyan traditional delicacies like kothey momos, choila momos, jhol momos, laksas and thukpas, the stellar new additions such as vegan momos, whole wheat momos and gluten-free momos will definitely delight the health enthusiasts as well. Momo King also promises safe and contact-less delivery in compliance with state rules, hence you can perhaps sit back, relax and enjoy these momos at your doorstep. The Himalayan haunt is also planning to open cloud kitchens in Delhi NCR shortly.
We sampled a few items from the new menu and here’s our take on them. Starting with the best, the Ladakhi mutton sandekho momo is meant for fan of all thing fiery and flavourful. These pan-fried momos are tossed in a pool of hot spices and finely sliced vegetables like carrots, onions, garlic and chillies.

They also have a slightly tangy aftertaste that complements the bold flavours very well. Next, we tried the tandoori soya kothey momos. Pan-fried momos stuffed with smoky and succulent soya filling and secret tandoori masala do cast a strong impression. We were not very kicked about the gluten-free crystal chicken momos, the casing was a little soggy and not as neat and translucent as you expect from your crystal dumplings, the filling however was very generous. Another star highlight of the menu are the thukpas. Thukpas are healthy and nutritious Tibetan soups, often laced with a dash of noodles and veggies. We tried the Nepali chicken thukpa, the soothing soup comes with four moderately sized chicken momos, boiled noodles and vegetables like carrots, garlic and celery.

For those who want a mix of everything should try the Momo King meal box. It comes with three momos of your choice (lamb, chicken pork), a choice of Malaysian laksa curry or jhol, and noodles, you can also choose rice or chow chow for your meal.
