Most of India, barring elements of northwest and peninsular area, is predicted to expertise above-normal most temperatures from April to June, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated at the moment.
It stated above-normal heatwave days are predicted in most elements of central, east and northwest India throughout this era.
“A significantly higher number of heatwave days are predicted over parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Punjab and Haryana,” IMD Director General Mrutyunjay Mahapatra stated in a digital press convention.
“During the 2023 hot weather season (April to June), most parts of the country are expected to experience above-normal maximum temperatures, except for south peninsular India and some parts of northwest India where normal to below-normal maximum temperatures are likely,” the IMD stated.
Normal to above-normal minimal temperatures are very probably over most elements of the nation, barring some areas in northeast and northwest India and remoted pockets of the peninsular area, it stated.
The climate bureau stated India is predicted to see regular rainfall in April.
Normal to above regular precipitation is predicted over most elements of northwest, central and peninsular area, whereas beneath regular rain is predicted in east and northeast India, it stated.
