HYDERABAD: As a part of strengthening Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and sub-centres throughout the State, Health Minister T Harish Rao on Saturday introduced that new buildings have been sanctioned for 43 PHCs.

Speaking on the month-to-month overview assembly, the minister mentioned building works will probably be undertaken at an estimated value of Rs 67. 6 crore. The minister mentioned that the State authorities has sanctioned new buildings for 1,239 sub-centres and can spend Rs 20 lakh on every constructing.

He mentioned that the works are in progress and 1,497 sub-centres are being repaired at a price of Rs 59. 88 crore, spending Rs 4 lakh on every centre. Currently, there are 4,745 sub-centres throughout the State.

The district medical and well being officers will monitor the development and restore of PHCs and sub-centres. During building and restore works, different preparations must be made to make sure that medical providers should not interrupted, the minister mentioned.

The minister added that CCTV cameras, together with web amenities, will quickly be put in in
all 720 PHCs throughout Telangana
