EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) — El Paso police have arrested 21-yer-old Brandon Mendoza after a taking pictures at a bar within the Cincinnati Entertainment District May 12, 2023.

Court paperwork newly obtained by ABC-7 state Mendoza kicked 24-year-old Juan Rojas’s head after Rojas was shot by one other suspect. Police haven’t but named that second suspect.

According to the courtroom paperwork, Rojas instructed investigators he arrived on the bar with a big group of individuals. He says the individuals in his group began to argue with one other group of individuals. Rojas instructed investigators he knew a couple of of the individuals within the different group, together with the 2 suspects. Court paperwork state he instructed investigators the 2 suspects affiliate with gang members.

Officials say officers with the gang unit responded to studies of photographs fired. Investigators discovered the battle began contained in the bar. Those concerned within the battle have been eliminated by safety, in response to a spokesperson. Police say these concerned continued to battle in a again alley.

Rojas says he was shot within the leg by the opposite suspect, then instructed investigators Mendoza ran as much as him and kicked his head.
