The New Aloha Stadium Entertainment District project is looking for development partners.

The plan to build an entertainment district in Halawa, Oʻahu is divided into two parts — the new Aloha Stadium, and a residential and commercial real estate area.

The Real Estate Project entails the development of 73 acres of the site surrounding a revamped Aloha Stadium. According to current project plans, there will be rental and for-sale residential lots, hotels, offices, and retail and entertainment venues.

The state posted a request for proposals on the real estate development portion of the project on Tuesday.

“We want to encourage maximum financial capacity, capability, and effectiveness of all of the teams that are applying to participate with us,” said Chris Kinimaka, the Public Works Administrator for the state Department of Accounting and General Services.

About $170 million in general obligation bonds has currently been allocated to the project.
