It’s been a fantastic year for the Nintendo Switch and October continues the trend with the release of some very exciting games on the hybrid console. Last month saw a ton of remasters make their way to Nintendo’s console, but also saw the release of WarioWare: Get It Together!, which offered a new twist on an old trick.
In October, another beloved franchise, Mario Party, is getting a new entry with Mario Party Superstars. Developed by NDcube, Mario Party Superstars is another blast from the past, returning five classic boards from the Nintendo 64 Mario Party games as well as 100 classic minigames from the N64 and GameCube games. The boards and games will be remastered in HD, and the game will also feature an online mode that will allow you to play with friends or randoms from across the globe.
Also coming this month is Metroid Dread, a brand new side-scrolling Metroid game, the first in almost two decades. Guardians of the Galaxy, from Eidos Montreal, is another blockbuster title to look forward to in October. However, it’s worth mentioning that this will only be playable on the Nintendo Switch via the Cloud which, well, let’s just say isn’t the ideal way to play games. But it’s better than not being able to play it, I suppose.
For soccer fans, FIFA 22 is coming on October 1. And for Super Smash Bros. fans, we’ve got a clone in the form of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, featuring some of the most iconic characters from the most beloved Nickelodeon shows.
It was also recently revealed that Dying Light, the post-apocalyptic, parkour-infused, survival horror/action-adventure from 2015, will finally be making its way to the Nintendo Switch. With Dying Light 2 coming to the Switch via the Cloud, this is the perfect way to familiarize yourself with this criminally underrated franchise from Techland.
