BURNSVILLE, Minn. — In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) has announced a delayed start to the 2020 fall sports season.
The NSIC Board of Directors unanimously supported a plan to move forward with the delayed start on Monday.
First practice dates for football and cross-country teams will now be moved back to September 2, with games beginning on September 26. Women’s volleyball and soccer practice has been pushed back to September 8, with competitions beginning on October 2.
In addition, the NSIC released revised schedules for football, volleyball, and soccer.
The UMD Football opener has been pushed back two weeks to September 26 against Wayne State.
