Athlone’s new €2.5m entertainment centre has set a opening date in early December.
In a post on Facebook this evening, Elevate Entertainment Centre confirmed the launch takes place on December 3, and they are promising a “level of entertainment never seen in this country”.
Work on the re-development of the old Texas site in Irishtown has been ongoing over the last year or more.
The outlet will open in two phases, according to the social media post, with electric go karting, an Airsoft shooting range, axe throwing, virtual reality laser tag, a PlayStation 5 room, party rooms and conference room, all opening on December 3.
Elevate Entertainment is promising there is much more to come in phase two in 2022.
“We hope you are as excited as we are and we will look forward to welcoming you all very soon,” the post said, adding that they will be taking bookings from November 22 next.
The new complex will be open to over-12s and is expected to create up to 40 new jobs in the Midlands.
The man behind the new centre is Roscrea native Colm Wright, who has been operating go-karting centres in Limerick and Cork for the past 20 years.
Other facilities planned include a roller disco rink, a Nerf Gun Arena, Nerf Shooting Gallery, quasar, mini golf and many other virtual reality and augmented reality pods all under the one roof.
