“A Pakistani soldier was killed and eight terrorists were eliminated during an overnight raid at a militant hideout in the restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province,” the army has mentioned.

The army has not but recognized the militant group to which the slain terrorists belonged. Pakistan’s authorities has stepped up its offensive in opposition to militants following a spike in terror assaults.

According to the Express Tribune newspaper, a minimum of 1,960 operations have been carried out within the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, out of which 1,516 have been area-domination operations, 301 have been intelligence-based operations, and 143 have been area-sanitisation operations.
