Pastor James L. Beach, 79, of Roaring Spring, passed away Thursday at his residence. He was born in Martinsburg, son of the late Robert and Grace (Hampton) Beach. He married Naomi Sheterom in 1959.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years; five daughters: Brenda Worley of Martinsburg, Susan Mohr and husband, Scott, of Bakers Summit, Debra Meade and husband, Timothy, of Roaring Spring, Mary Grace Vinson in Md., and Melody Messersmith, of Everett; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Anna Welch; a brother, David; and a special care-giver, Mindy Wagner.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth A. in 1992; and brothers Daniel and Stanley.

Pastor Beach graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 1958, and graduated from the Altoona Bible Institute, where he became a teacher. He served in the U.S. Army and retired as a Pastor from Morrison Cove Baptist Church where he remained a faithful member He was proprietor of JB Termite & Pest Control. Pastor Beach was a life member of the NRA. He loved watching sports and was an avid life-long Dallas Cowboys and NY Yankees fan.

Friends will be received from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2020 and from 10 a.m.- noon on Monday, Aug 24, 2020 at Morrison Cove Baptist Church, where a funeral service will immediately follow at noon. Pastor Aaron Musselman will be officiating. Interment will take place at Dry Run Cemetery.
