Days after a Patiala woman misplaced her life on her birthday allegedly after consuming a cake ordered on-line, Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh has ordered an inquiry into her loss of life.

“I am very upset about the innocent girl’s death and that too on her birthday. Children are precious. Any family losing them is heartbreaking. Both the food safety and forensic reports would be collated to reach a conclusion. But there are many questions. They need to be answered. We will know whether it was the cake or something else.”

The incident occurred when Manvi, a Class V pupil, celebrated her birthday on March 24 in Patiala.
