For many Republican Iowa voters the caucus is the primary alternative to weigh in on who they need to be their nominee for the 2024 presidential race. Candidates have been on the bottom, nonetheless, the weather has made campaigning troublesome, with occasions canceled or moved on-line as a substitute.
Former President Donald Trump won the Iowa caucus.
As voters turned out Monday, the chilly set in. Though temperatures hit -6 levels in Sioux City, one of many largest Northwest precincts, there was the next turnout than anticipated.
The doorways opened at 7 p.m. CT throughout Iowa and voters began signing up to participate.
