Pixar’s latest animated feature, Soul is all set to hit theatres soon. But before that, we have a new SparkShort headed into theatres along with the upcoming film. Pixar has announced that a short film titled Burrow will release ahead of Soul.
Like most films scheduled for release this year, Soul hit a roadblock due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film was initially set to open on June 19 and has since been moved to November 20. Starring an impressive voice cast including Jamie Foxx, Tina Fey and Daveed Diggs and more, the animated adventure is the next best thing in the Pixar universe. The studio is making the wait for Soul all the more worth it by playing Burrow ahead of the film in theatres. Burrow is directed by Madeline Sharafian and produced by Mike Capbarat as part of Pixar’s SparkShorts program. The new short was fittingly announced on International Rabbit Day.
So what do we know about the fluffy, feel-good adventure that awaits in Burrow? Here’s everything we know about the plot of the film:

As per the official synopsis, in Disney and Pixar’s new short film Burrow, a young rabbit embarks on a journey to dig the burrow of her dreams, despite not having a clue what she’s doing. Rather than reveal to her neighbours her imperfections, she digs herself deeper and deeper into trouble. After hitting (bed)rock bottom, she learns there is no shame in asking for help.
While Disney has changed dates of several films slated for 2020-21, including Marvel’s Black Widow and Death On the Nile to name a few, Soul‘s intended date of release has so far remained unchanged after the initial delay. Soul follows the story of a middle-school music teacher and jazz-lover Joe (Jamie Foxx) whose soul is transported out of his body. He must now find his way back to his body.
Soul is expected to release in theatres on November 20, 2020.
