The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has determined to improve services at two civic hospitals with the assistance of personal gamers. The civic physique on Wednesday floated tenders to run Dalvi Hospital in Shivajinagar and Sanjay Gandhi Maternity Home in Bopodi on a public-private partnership (PPP) mannequin, stated the officers.

As per the PMC officers, each the hospitals shall be upgraded to normal hospitals and can have specialised docs. The mattress capability at Dalvi Hospital shall be elevated to 50 beds from 30 beds and Sanjay Gandhi Maternity Home can have 75 beds. The Dalvi hospital may also have a 10-bed intensive care unit (ICU) facility and a 10-bed dialysis unit. Also, each the hospitals as per the phrases of the settlement can have specialised docs like cardiologists, neurologists, paediatricians, and radiologists amongst others, they stated.

Dr Sanjeev Wavare, assistant well being officer of PMC, stated, each the hospitals chosen are both unutilised or underutilised.

“The Sanjay Gandhi Hospital currently has no beds and will have 75 beds. The hospitals will have all lab tests and screening facilities. As per the agreement, the private player will run the facility for 30 years. Treatment to patients admitted at both the hospitals will be charged as per the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) rates,” he stated.

Dr Bhagwan Pawar, well being officer of PMC, stated at present the civic physique has just one normal hospital, Kamla Nehru Hospital and with the assistance of the non-public gamers two extra normal hospitals shall be made out there for the residents.
