Key Highlights

  • The Poco M2 Pro is tipped to be powered by the Snapdragon 720G chipset
  • The Poco M2 Pro will feature 33W fast charging feature like the Note 9 Pro Max by Redmi

The Poco M2 Pro looks to be all set to launch in India today. This will be the third smartphone to arrive in the Indian market after the Poco F1, the Poco X2 Pro, and now the M2 Pro. The former sub-brand of Xiaomi is launching the phone in India today. The company has already shared some key specs of the phone. Also, the teaser image has indicated that the device and specifications suggest that this could be another rebranded Redmi smartphone for the Indian market.

The Poco M2 Pro has been already rumoured to launch in India for some time now with the smartphone spotted on the BIS certification website last month. A number of rumours have hinted that the Poco M2 Pro could just be another version of Redmi Note 9 Pro.

Poco M2 Pro expected specs

A previous 91Mobiles report has also stated that this could be the global variant of Redmi Note 9 Pro. The global variant is different than the domestic version which is already available in the market. If this is true then this could be the most affordable Poco smartphone yet.

Poco has teased the phone using the term “Feel the Surge” and it hints at a faster-charging speed and performance as well. The Poco M2 Pro will be made available for sale on Flipkart and has been confirmed to support 33W fast charging – same as the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. The teaser also hints at another device which is built around the same design language first seen on the Redmi Note 9 Pro series.

The M2 Pro gets a quad rear camera setup similar to the Redmi Note 9 Pro series. The image has also confirmed that it will get a 48-megapixel main camera on the back – could be the same 48-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL GM2 seen on the Redmi Note 9 Pro. The global version gets a two-tone finish on the back but features a 64-megapixel main camera. Also, a leaked Geekbench listing has revealed that the M2 Pro will use a Snapdragon 720G chipset.
