Author JK Rowling is not going to face any police motion after a grievance that she ‘misgendered’ trans broadcaster India Willoughby was thrown out.

Ms Willoughby, a newsreader and Loose Women presenter, contacted the police on Monday over a web-based publish by which the Harry Potter writer referred to her as a person.

A Northumbria Police spokesman stated: ‘While we recognise the upset this may increasingly have brought about, the publish was reviewed and didn’t meet the felony threshold.’

Ms Willoughby beforehand claimed Ms Rowling ‘positively dedicated a crime‘. 

In an interview with Byline TV, she stated: ‘I’m legally a lady. She is aware of I’m a lady, and she or he calls me a person.’

Posting on X, the author stated no regulation compelled her to confer with the broadcaster as a lady.

She additionally stated attorneys had beforehand suggested she might sue Ms Willoughby for ‘defamation’.

In a web-based dialog about all-female altering rooms, Ms Rowling stated Ms Willoughby ‘was only a man revelling in his misogynistic efficiency of what he thinks ‘lady’ means: narcissistic, shallow and exhibitionist’.

Ms Willoughby stated the feedback had led to a ‘disgusting’ on-line backlash.
