PANAJI: Former chief minister Luizinho Faleiro on Thursday said that the Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC), the group led by political strategist Prashant Kishor, has played a key role in his decision to join the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC).
Faleiro also said that I-PAC, which is currently carrying out an extensive survey across Goa, will prepare the roadmap for TMC’s plunge into the 2022 Goa Assembly election.
The former CM claimed that prior to meeting West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee and joining the TMC, he and his supporters did not meet any of the TMC leaders camping in Goa. TMC leaders Derek O’Brien and Abhishek Banerjee have been in Goa for nearly a week.
“It is a fact that I never met the TMC leaders. I met I-PAC. I met Prashant Kishore just before I took the decision. We had an interaction… it was a very difficult decision for me to leave the Congress party,” said Faleiro when asked as to what made him join the TMC and if the Kishor convinced him about the shift.

“I felt in the interest of Goa and to defeat the BJP this was the only way to go ahead,” Faleiro said. “Today politics is a science and I-PAC are wizards as far as politics is concerned.”
The former AICC general secretary said that I-PAC is conducting a door-to-door survey in every constituency in Goa trying to get the pulse of the Goan voter.

“We have people who are doing a survey from the I-PAC group in Goa to find out what are people’s aspirations. I hope that in the next 10-15 days we will have the details so that we can prepare a roadmap, a plan so that we can work in every taluka, every constituency,” said Faleiro.
