Shillong, Nov 1: Apprehensive of violence, shop-keepers within the metropolis coronary heart have downed their shutters this morning whilst 4 strain teams below the banner of Save Hynniewtrep Mission staged protest in two completely different locations- one close to the SP workplace and the DC workplace level – within the metropolis.

The strain teams embrace HYC, HANM, EJNC, JSM and Corp.  However, tight safety association made by the administration which has apparently learnt a lesson from final Friday’s FKJGP rally that turned violent on the town streets, has up to now prevented the strain group protestors from continuing additional.

Meanwhile, the protestors stationed on the two factors are shouting ‘MDA down down’ slogans whereas demanding introduction of the ILP within the state, inclusion of Khasi Language within the Eighth Schedule, assessment of inter-state boundary MoU with Assam, relocation of Harijan colony, CBI or judicial probe into the killing of Late Cherristerfield Thangkhiew, filling up of the vacant posts in authorities departments and fast repeal of Gambling Act.

At this cut-off date few representatives of the teams are in talks with Home Minister, Lahkmen Rymbui.
