Pune, twenty third January 2023: Disability Welfare Department below Pune Zilla Parishad (ZP) organized district-level disabled college sports activities competitions on January 16, 20, and 23.
Sports competitions have been inaugurated on January 23 at Saint Dnyaneshwar Sports Complex, Indrayani Nagar, Bhosari by ZP Chief Executive Officer Ayush Prasad. 1,537 disabled athletes from 77 particular colleges within the Pune district participated on this competitors.
On the event of the inauguration, the scholars have been praised for appreciating the Yogasana introduced by the scholars of Chinchwad Badhir Mook Vidyalaya and the welcome tune and ‘ishastavan’ introduced by the blind college students of Patashibai Lunkad Blind School and Jagruti Blind Girls School. The competitors like operating with one crutch and operating with two crutches was inaugurated by flagging off on the mentioned event.
On this event Chandrakant Waghmare, ZP Additional Chief Executive Officer, Pravin Korgantiwar, District Social Welfare Officer, Rohini More, Medical Social Worker, Shantilal Lunkad, Founder of Blind Children School have been current. The program was hosted by Sangeeta Kumthekar and Ravindra Joshi.
On January 20, 234 athletes from 21 colleges took half in 4 classes of shot put, lengthy bounce, and softball throw at Child Welfare Institute, Pune. Similarly, the shot put and lengthy bounce competitions have been held at Ayodhya Charitable Trust Pune. On January 16, swimming and chess competitions have been held at Child Welfare Institute, Pune. 120 visually impaired college students from 5 colleges and 105 visually impaired college students from 5 colleges participated within the swimming and chess competitions respectively from 24 colleges.
