Chandigarh: Dengue is on the rise in Punjab with every passing day. More than 10,000 dengue cases have been reported in the state in the last 30 days. So far, 38 people have lost their lives in Punjab. According to health officials, the increase in dengue cases in the state is a matter of concern.
So far 12,500 dengue cases have been registered in the state. It seems that the state administration failed to take the necessary steps in time to prevent dengue. Apart from the local bodies of the city, major steps have not been taken to prevent dengue at the panchayat level.
Dengue outbreaks in Punjab,—around 13K cases recorded yet, but haplessly, that the Channi’s Govt has woefully failed in taking timely action to prevent it.

What are the chances of getting relief?
The risk of dengue in the state is moving towards a peak. More than 4,000 dengue cases have been reported in the last week. The number of people dying due to increasing dengue cases may also increase. Punjab witnessed the worst dengue outbreak in 2017 when more than 15,000 cases were reported in the state.
By November 15, the people of Punjab do not see any possibility of getting relief from dengue. Dengue cases could have come down due to the night temperature drop after November 15. Experts believe that the situation has worsened due to unseasonal rains last week. Earlier, dengue cases had also registered a spurt during the monsoon.
