Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur have reached a €30 million agreement for the transfer of left-back Sergio Reguilon, according to reports from the Spanish press. The transfer will be announced this week —possibly this Thursday— and the deal will include a buyback option for the next two years valued at around €35-40 million, per those same reports.
Manchester United were also interested in the player but refused the idea of including that option, which was a priority for Real Madrid and the main reason why Los Blancos decided to sell Reguilon to Tottenham instead.
The Spanish left-back has been impressive for Sevilla last season and it will be interesting to see how well he performs in the Premier League, even more so considering that Madrid could decide to bring him back in the future, when Marcelo’s contract with the club expires.
Reguilon’s move to Tottenham could not be the last agreement between Madrid and the London-based club, given that Gareth Bale is expected to finalize his loan move to the Spurs as well.
