PHILADELPHIA – Penn Athletics will be partnering with NBC Sports Philadelphia this fall to broadcast seven previously aired contests. The games will appear on NBC Sports Philadelphia Plus at 8 p.m. each Wednesday beginning October 7.
The two parties have worked together for the past four years to showcase live Penn Athletics events, originally produced by the Penn Sports Network staff. In total, 57 events have been broadcast to the Philadelphia region in 11 different sports.
The complete schedule is listed below.
WEDNESDAY, OCT. 7: Men’s Soccer 3, Cornell 2 (original air date October 5, 2019)
Penn won its Ivy League opener thanks to goals from Ben Stitz, Brandon Bartel and Joey Bhangdia.
WEDNESDAY, OCT. 14: Women’s Soccer 1, Dartmouth 0 (original air date October 19, 2019)
Sizzy Lawton scored in the 11th minute to give Penn the win over the Big Green.
WEDNESDAY, OCT. 21: Football 38, Princeton 35 (original air date November 4, 2017)
Current Tampa Bay Buccaneer Justin Watson caught the go-ahead touchdown pass with 1:12 to play, and an dramatic final minute that included an overturned Princeton touchdown catch and missed Tigers field goal kept the Quakers on top.
WEDNESDAY, OCT. 28: Temple 193.675, Women’s Gymnastics 193.325 (original air date February 9, 2020)
The freshmen led the way for the Quakers, with reigning ECAC Rookie of the Week McCaleigh Marr finishing second on bars and beam while Rebekah Lashley finished second on floor as Penn lost a tight meet to its city rival.
WEDNESDAY, NOV. 4: Wrestling 26, Maryland 6 (original air date December 2, 2019)
Penn won six straight matches, turning a 3-0 deficit into a 20-3 lead to take down Big Ten foe Maryland.
WEDNESDAY, NOV. 11: Women’s Basketball 70, Harvard 48 (original air date February 22, 2020)
Penn won its seventh straight game thanks to 23 points from freshman Kayla Padilla. Four other Quakers finished in double figures.
WEDNESDAY, NOV. 18: Men’s Basketball 76, Princeton 70 (original air date January 6, 2018)
Ryan Betley scored 21 points and Antonio Woods added 12 as the Quakers defeated the Tigers for their first Ivy win of the season. Penn would go on to win the Ivy title and advance to the NCAA Tournament in March.
