ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Rochester Institute of Technology Department of Intercollegiate Athletics unveiled its newly redesigned RITathletics.com website, Wednesday, extending its long-standing relationship with industry leader SIDEARM Sports.
 
“We are excited to provide our fans a complete refresh of our website as we continue to examine how we brand our department,” said Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Jacqueline Nicholson. “We are also excited to continue working with the team at SIDEARM and believe this latest design will only accentuate how we tout all the great accomplishments our teams and student-athletes are achieving.”
 
New features of the clean, responsive design include user-friendly menus designed to better organize the information fans are looking for, as well as a central calendar block providing easy access to upcoming events and recent results. A new online store also launched, with a wide variety of RIT Athletics-branded apparel and accessories available at RITathletics.com/shop.
 
“Our priority was to modernize the look of our site while enhancing functionality and access to our content,” said Director of Athletic Communications, Tim Volkmann.  “We spent time looking at other websites, including many outside of intercollegiate athletics, and considered what components would be most effective in telling our department’s story.”
 
The RIT Tigers mobile app also recently received a redesign, providing fans a quick and efficient way to access the latest information, results and video with the push of a button. Fans can also tailor their mobile experience with upgraded “notification” functionality to have scores and news about their favorite teams sent directly to their mobile device. RIT was one of the first athletic departments in the nation to partner with SIDEARM Sports, which has since become the industry standard for athletic website and multimedia platform hosting with over 1,100 clients across the country ranging from power-five NCAA Division I institutions to NAIA and junior college institutions.
