Robert “Bob” James Martin Jr., 67, of Bellefonte passed away Friday, Aug. 28, 2020 at UPMC, Altoona.

Bob was born in Bellefonte on Sept. 13, 1952, he was a son of the late Robert James Sr. and Nancy R. (Owens) Martin. He married Sandra (Fritchman) Martin on June 10, 1972 at the Trinity United Methodist Church of Bellefonte. They were married for 48 wonderful years.

Bob worked in the manufacturing department at Cerro Metals Co. and at Graymont PA working a total of 45 years between both businesses.

He was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Bellefonte.

He enjoyed camping, hunting, gardening, watching Steelers football and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He also looked forward to his weekly breakfast outings with his cousin, Bill Spicer. Bob was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who lived for his family. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Robert is survived by his wife Sandra L. Martin of Bellefonte; three children, Thomas Martin (Leslie) of Bellefonte, Tracy Houser (Denny) of Howard, and Tonya Luse (Rory) of Centre Hall; 11 grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Randy Martin (Wanda) of Grassflat and sister, Brenda Herman (Greg) of Missouri.

Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020, at the Faith United Methodist Church, 512 Hughes St, Bellefonte, PA 16823. The funeral service will immediately follow at noon with Pastor Andrew Morgan officiating. Burial will be private at Centre County Memorial Park.

Keeping with CDC guidelines, those attending the viewing and funeral are asked to wear masks and observe social distancing.

Bob was a 1970 graduate of the Bellefonte Area High School and a proud member of the wrestling team. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports, especially wrestling and football. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Bellefonte Education Foundation at PO Box 97, Bellefonte, PA 16823 to be distributed between the Bellefonte wrestling and football booster clubs.
