The head of an organization that makes navigation programs for Russia’s area programme was arrested in Moscow and charged with main fraud, state media reported on Friday.
TASS information company quoted an unidentified regulation enforcement official as saying that Yevgeny Fomichev had been interrogated and charged with large-scale fraud, which carries a jail time period of as much as 10 years and one million rouble ($10,972) high quality.
TASS stated Moscow’s Basmanny District Court, which regularly handles high-profile circumstances, had ordered Fomichev to be held in pre-trial detention till Feb. 21 on the request of Russia’s Investigative Committee, which offers with critical crimes.
Fomichev is head of NPP Geophysics-Cosmos, an organization whose web site says it manufactures “optical electronic orientation and navigation devices for spacecraft”. It says that the majority Russian spacecraft use its tools.
The web site features a nine-page anti-corruption coverage that claims administration has a key position in making a tradition of zero-tolerance in the direction of corruption.
Russia’s area programme suffered an enormous setback in August when its Luna-25 spacecraft smashed into the floor of the moon whereas making an attempt to land there.
An investigation blamed a malfunction in an on-board management unit for the failure of Russia’s first moon mission for 47 years.
