A Russian defence ministry cargo aircraft, with 15 folks onboard, crashed within the Ivanovo area, northeast of Moscow, on Tuesday, native media reported. The incident befell shortly after the plane – Ilyushin Il-76 – took off from an air base in western Russia. According to the Russian defence minister, an engine hearth throughout takeoff was the probably reason behind the crash.

Reportedly, the aircraft carried eight crew members and 7 passengers.

According to Russian on-line media, there are not any survivors, reported Reuters.

A video posted by the Moscow Times reveals the aircraft on hearth – simply moments earlier than it crashed. Another purported video posted on X (previously generally known as Twitter), reveals the aircraft with one engine on hearth heading downwards and a darkish plume of smoke will be seen rising because the plane crashed.

In January, a similar Russian IL-76 military transport aircraft crashed within the Belgorod area close to the Russia-Ukraine border, killing all 65 passengers onboard.
