In a uncommon incident, a lady passenger was bitten by a scorpion onboard an Air India flight from Nagpur to Mumbai final month.

Air India mentioned there was an “extremely rare and unfortunate incident involving a scorpion biting a passenger onboard our flight AI 630 on April 23, 2023”.

According to the airline, it adopted the protocol and carried out full inspection of the plane and located the scorpion after which a due fumigation course of was carried out.

Following the incident, Air India requested the catering division to advise dry cleaners to verify their services for any mattress bugs infestation and if obligatory, perform fumigation of the services as there’s a risk of bugs discovering their means into the plane by means of the provides, an Air India official informed Press Trust of India.
