The Screening Room Cinema Cafe at the Boulevard Mall will not reopen today (July 17) as previously announced.

Owner Bob Golibersuch said he was told by officials that his business, which is licensed as a cafe and event space, needs to reevaluated before it can reopen. The boutique cinema shows repertory, specialty and classic movies.

He had planned to reopen the space at a reduced capacity of about 30 people with new safety precautions including  plexiglass guards at the ticket counter and concessions; new filters and a HEPA air purifier; and touchless hand sanitizer stations. Tables, chairs and couches would be moved around in “sections” to keep moviegoers socially distant.
