There’s been turnover in Nine’s boardroom lately. Since the latest of the administrators, now managing director Mike Sneesby and WIN Corp boss Andrew Lancaster, began in 2021, Falloon and his former Fairfax Media ally have left, as did ex-Nine CEO Hugh Marks.
Costello has been chairman since February 2013, previous to the media firm re-listing on the ASX, which is a fairly lengthy tenure so far as non-executive chairmen are involved.
A Nine spokeswoman declined to touch upon the director search on Thursday.
The search comes after Costello flagged that he can be searching for so as to add one other director to Nine’s board on the firm’s annual common assembly in November. First, although, he stated the board would full “both a thorough review of current Director skills and a subsequent search to identify the most suitable candidate”.
The board’s heavy on political clout (because of Costello), audit expertise (Sam Lewis), technique (Mickie Rosen, Sam Lewis) and working media expertise (Sneesby, Lancaster).
