Indian all-rounder, Sneh Rana proudly devoted India’s historic eight-wicket victory towards Australia at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium to the passionate followers of the Indian workforce. Following the victory, Rana expressed her pleasure, emphasizing that the win would encourage children to aspire to play the purest format of the sport.

In the post-match presentation ceremony, Rana, who was awarded the Player of the Match, shared her pleasure.

“I feel incredible standing here, getting this award. It’s a fantastic Test win. Nobody labeled me a night watchman since they knew I could bat. Batting with Smriti Mandhana for the first time felt good,” she stated.

Despite coming in at No.3 in India’s first innings, Rana dismissed the notion of feeling like a night-watchman.

“I didn’t sense being a night watchman. I’ve always aimed to take wickets and support my team. The captain has given me an opportunity, and I need to perform well,” she added.

Reflecting on her efficiency, Rana acknowledged the dropped catches throughout her bowling spells however maintained a constructive outlook.

“Dropped catches are just a part of the game, and it doesn’t discourage me. I’ll strive to bounce back stronger,” she stated.

Highlighting the importance of the Test match in India after a chronic interval, Rana emphasised that this victory holds a particular place.

“This win is at the top because a Test match in India has occurred after a long time. It holds immense significance for Indian fans, and it will inspire emerging players to aspire to play more Test cricket,” she concluded.
