East Palestine 2

COLUMBIANA–The Columbiana boys soccer team defeated East Palestine 4-2 in the Clippers’ home opener Monday.

Collin Schick led the Clippers with two goals, while Gabe Heinrich and Micah Direnzo each had one goal. Direnzo added an assist. Drake Daugherty chipped in two assists, while James Porter had one assist. Nate Burnell and Dylan Hogan each had three saves in goal.

Brandon Turcola had one goal and one assist for the Bulldogs. Weston Jones added a goal for East Palestine, while Evan Smith recorded 14 saves in goal.

United 6, Minerva 0

HANOVERTON–Sam Wolfe had a hat trick as the United girls soccer team downed Minerva 6-0 on Monday.

Morgan Briceland, Rachael Rhodes and Addyson Blazer each added one goal apiece. Wolfe and Briceland each had one assist. Madelynne Brieck had three saves in goal for the Eagles.

Salem 2, Niles 0

SALEM — Abby Perry and Rylee Hutton each scored goals — both off Mikalynn Murphy assists — as Salem topped Niles, 2-0, in girls soccer action Monday night at Sebo Stadium. Sam Moore made 14 saves in goal for the shutout.

West Branch 7,

Hubbard 1

HUBBARD–Jillian Pidgeon recorded a hat trick as the West Branch girls soccer team rolled to a 7-1 victory over Hubbard Monday.

Emma Egli added two goals for the Warriors (2-0), while Lacey Phillis and Chloe Dennison each had one goal. Egli, Bri Thomas and Addy Jones each had one assist.

, while Amanda Davidson had a solid night in goal.

West Branch is at Cardinal Mooney Saturday.
