INDIA. Goa: The body of BJP leader Sonali Phogat had “multiple blunt force injuries”, a post-mortem report said today, hours after two of her associates were charged with her murder.

“There are multiple blunt force injuries on the body. Due to the above, the manner of death remains to be determined by the investigating officer,” the report said.

“There are multiple blunt force injuries on the body. In view of the above, it is for the investigating officer to ascertain the manner of death,” read the postmortem report on the Bigg Boss star whose death stunned the political and entertainment world. .

“Police officers who conducted a physical examination of the body of Sonali Phogat found no sharp-edged injuries on the body,” the police said.

Sonali Phogat’s personal assistant Sudhir Sangwan and his friend Sukhwinder Wasi, who were with her at the time of the incident have been charged and arrested.

Sonali Phogat (42) died on Tuesday morning in Goa, where she had gone with a group.Her family disputed initial reports that she had died of cardiac arrest.

The Goa police on Thursday registered a case of murder against her personal assistant Sudhir Sangwan and his friend Sukhwinder Wasi, who were with Sonali Phogat when she arrived in Goa on Monday. Sonali Phogat was brought dead to St Anthony Hospital in Anjuna, North Goa on Tuesday morning.

Her brother Rinku Dhaka filed a complaint with the Goa police alleging that his sister was raped and murdered by Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhwinder. Rinku alleged that Sonali Phogat was drugged and raped by her assistant. “We are sure that our sister was raped and murdered,” he said.

In his complaint, Rinku said Sonali Phogat, a BJP leader from Haryana’s Hisar, had spoken to her mother, sister and brother-in-law hours before her death. She allegedly complained about her employees. Rinku said that Sonali Phogat was drugged and raped by her assistant.

Sonali Phogat’s sisters said they cannot come to terms with the fact that she died of a heart attack. They also said she “suggested something” on the phone.

“My sister can’t have a heart attack. She was very fit. We demand a proper CBI probe. My family is not ready to accept that she died of a heart attack. She had no such medical problem,” one of her sisters Rupesh, told ANI.

“She called me the night before her death. She said she wanted to talk on WhatsApp and said something suspicious was going on… later she hung up and then didn’t pick up,” she added.

Sonali Phogat, who had gone to Goa with the group, was taken to hospital after she complained of restlessness. While her family questioned the circumstances of her death, Goa police chief Jaspal Singh told PTI that there was “no foul play” but an autopsy would confirm the cause.
