The Sports Entertainment Network saw continued audience growth across both their Melbourne and Sydney stations in the GfK Survey 6, released today in addition to record breaking consumption growth across its digital platforms in the month of September.
In Melbourne, 1116 SEN listeners grew by 58,000 All People 10+, taking the station to a cumulative audience of 377,000*.
In Sydney, the growth across all SEN’s brands delivered a total cumulative audience of 245,000**, with highlights including 1170 SEN’s cumulative audience increasing by 39,000 to 112,000 listeners All People 10+ and 2CH DAB+ growing by 15,000 to 91,000 listeners All People 10+.
1116 SEN Melbourne Survey 6 highlights:
• Cumulative Audience increased (All People 10+) across all major shifts;
• Breakfast with Garry Lyon & Tim Watson (6am-9am Monday – Friday) grew to 149,000 listeners All People 10+ (up 16,000);
• Whateley (9am-12pm Monday-Thursday) grew to 125,000 listeners All People 10+ (up 12,000) and an increased share of 7.5% Males;
• The Captains Run with Kane Cornes (9am-12pm Friday’s) grew to 66,000 All People 10+ (up 20,000) and an increased share of 7% Males;
• Dwayne’s World with Dwayne Russell grew to 139,000 listeners All People 10+ (up 12,000);
• Drive with Bob Murphy & Andy Maher increased to 170,000 listeners All People 10+ (up 27,000);
Sydney Survey 6 highlights:
• On 1170 SEN the cumulative audience (All People 10+) grew by 39,000 listeners to 112,000 listeners each week;
• Breakfast with Vossy (6am-9am Monday-Friday) grew to 35,000 listeners (All people 10+);
• Mornings with Matt White had the highest time spent listening for (9am – 12pm Monday – Friday) All People 25-54 with 5h 54m;
• Morning Glory with Matty Johns (9am – 12pm Friday) delivered 21,000 All People 10+ and increased to a 4.2% share for Males 25-54 and the highest time spent listening in the timeslot with 2h 5m;
• Afternoons with Jimmy Smith (1pm-3pm Monday- Thursday) increased to 23,000 listeners for All People 10+ and had the highest time spent listening in its slot (1pm – 3pm Monday –Thursday) for All People 25-54 with 3h 45m;
• Drive with Joel & Fletch (3pm-6pm Monday -Friday) and grew to 31,000 listeners for All Males and had the highest time spent listening for the shift Males 25-54
• 2CH DAB+ cumulative audience grew to 91,000 listeners All People 10+ and increased cumulative audience in every day part across workday and weekends;
Highlights from Sports Entertainment Network’s syndicated shows
• Sportsday on 3AW increased cumulative audience to 120,000 All People 10+ (up 33,000);
• Sportsday on 3AW remained Number 1 with an increase to 13.2% share for All Males;
• Sportsday on 6PR continued to be Number 1 up to 16% for All Males;
• Sportsday on 6PR increased cumulative audience with 45,000 for All People 10+;
• Sportszone on 2GB grew to 8.4% All Males 35+;
• Great Australian Lives on 3AW ranked Number 1 All People 10+ with an increase 22% (up 7.5pp);
SEN Group Radio Director Sam Thompson said “We’ve experienced some of the biggest sporting moments on SEN – from the call of the NRL Grand Final from Brisbane for the very first time with the Penrith Panthers winning their 3rd premiership; to Gerard Whateley and Anthony Hudson’s call of Melbourne winning their first AFL premiership in 57 years; and we celebrated the Wallabies winning four straight Test matches for the first time in four years.

Our September Digital highlights***
• 14M page views across SEN’s app & website (up 12% since August) from 1.83M users;
• 1.9m streams across SEN’s app & website (up 9% since August);
• App users are listening form an average of 11 hours and 30 minutes per month;
• SEN app: 4.3M screen views (up 5% since August), 104K users, 1.6M streams;
• 71.6M concurrent minutes listened in September;
• 10.8 million video views across web, app & social media platforms;
• 4.8m podcast listens – an increase of 41% month on month & all time record!
