PREP GOLF
Bedford wins title at Adrian
ADRIAN – Bedford’s girls golf team brought home the championship of the Adrian Invitational Monday, shooting 403.
The Mules had a great 1- 2 punch as Elyse Czarnik placed third with 95 and Elaina Smith tied for fourth with 97 Morgan Decker shot 100; Mady Bischoff 111 and Grace Lump finished with a 120.
PREP GOLF
Martin leads Huron
NEWPORT – Andie Martin fired a medalist round of 41 at Lilac Golf Course to lead New Boston Huron to a season-opening 228-235 victory over Jefferson.
Martin was supported by AJ Skene with 59.
Kayce Maitland led Jefferson with 56 and Callie Calvin carded a 57.
SMCC wins again
St. Mary Catholic Central improved to 2-0 with a victory over Flat Rock at Monroe Golf & Country Club Monday.
Flat Rock’s Jillian Hagan was medalist, and Arianna Lewis led the Kestrels.
PREP TENNIS
Milan blanked
CHELSEA – Milan, which opened the season with a trio of dual- meet wins, suffered its first loss Monday as Chelsea blanked the Big Reds 8-0.
Matthew Bowman and Ryder Knox were competitive for Milan at No. 1 doubles.
GOLF
Military honored
Monroe Golf & Country Club will host the Folds of Honor Tournament on Sept. 7 with all proceeds to benefit military families.
Folds of Honor provided educational scholarships to the spouses and children of fallen or disabled service men and women.
It will be a two-person scramble for 18 holes with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. The entry fee is $30 for members and veterans and $50 for nonmembers. It includes a cart, lunch, prizes and raffles. For more information send an e-mail to info@monroe.golf or call 734-241-5190.
