Thiru Sivakumar Nadesan, a famend editor of a number one Tamil newspaper in Sri Lanka, might be conferred with the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award (PBSA), India’s highest honour for the members of the Indian diaspora.

Nadesan, the Managing Director of Express Newspapers, might be conferred with the best Indian authorities award for abroad Indians by President Droupadi Murmu on the seventeenth Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas Convention in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, from January 8-10.

Nadesan has been chosen for the honour for his contribution to the welfare of the Indian group, the Indian High Commission right here stated in a press release.

Nadesan is the present President of the Sri Lanka chapter of the Global Organisation of People of Indian-origin and has been working relentlessly for group welfare. He initiated a fundraiser to help stranded Indian residents in Sri Lanka through the coronavirus pandemic, it stated.

Nadesan is the second Sri Lankan nationwide to be honoured with the award. Thiru Mano Selvanathan was conferred with the award in 2011 for his contributions within the enterprise sphere.
