Chinese troopers confronted Indian graziers in Ladakh alongside the Line of Actual Control (LAC) on January 2, particularly close to Patrolling Points 35 and 36 at Kakjung within the Nyoma constituency. A video of the incident, the place herders confront the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) claiming it to be Chinese territory, went viral on social media. The locals, talking in Tibetan, are seen throwing rocks on the PLA troopers. Notably, there isn’t a presence of Indian safety forces within the video. Following the incident, officers, together with the sarpanch, sub-divisional Justice of the Peace, Indian Army, and ITBP officers, visited the positioning on January 12.
